About The Diplomat’s Cabinet

The Diplomat’s Cabinet was born out of a simple but powerful belief: global affairs conversations need to evolve

Founded by Maria Luísa Moreira in January 2024 as The Gender Diplomat Newsletter, the project began with a mission to uncover overlooked angles and insights in foreign affairs, particularly at the intersection of global security and inequality. Presented in a 5-minute read, packed with useful tools and resources, it was designed to engage an initial audience of 5,000+ international readers — sparking that “I hadn’t thought of it that way” reflection — without sacrificing depth. This was the gap the publication aimed to fill.

As the world has evolved, so has the project. By 2025, The Diplomat’s Cabinet has broadened its thematic focus and transformed into a multimedia and strategic policy communications platform. It is dedicated to helping institutions and stakeholders distill complex geopolitical issues into concise, impactful storytelling that informs, engages, and provokes action.

Guided by innovation, leadership, and impact, The Diplomat’s Cabinet is redefining how global security and diplomacy are communicated by bridging the gap between policy and public engagement.

If you believe this is the future of global communications and diplomacy, let's work together.
